HOUSING ACCELERATOR FUND
The Town applied for funding via the Housing Accelerator Fund, a Government of Canada funding program that is administered by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). On December 23, 2024, the Town signed a contribution agreement with CMHC to receive $$1,109,100.60 in funding over a three-year period, to assist it with its residential development and housing construction initiatives. The HAF program runs until December 31, 2027 and the funding is provided to the Town in four equal payments over that timeframe. The Town is required to regularly report to CMHC on the 5 major initiatives and related subtasks / milestones associated with the HAF contribution agreement over the timeframe of the HAF program.
